STRESS? TAKE A REST ;)

Everyone talks about STRESS, the more you do, the more stress you'll get. Hehehe, confusing? Imagine that you've to do laundry, if you do it daily, you stress! If you do it weekly, worse! Super Stress! That's why, some of us 'outsourced' our stress, hahaha

It's easy to tell people, "Hey dude, relax!" or "Take it easy"...we don't know how stress a friend can be. He or she can appear very lively, very happy, talkative (just like me) hehehe but, stress also can grow within any of us.

Let's see what makes us stress the most, and whether it's time to think about it and let go...

AFTER ARGUMENT STRESS
It's hard to cool down after an argument, either we can't sleep, or has no appetite for the day, regardless of any argument, definitely there is something still 'stuck' in the heart, just can't find a way to release it.

Try:- Do you think you can say sorry? No point thinking who's fault, when you say sorry (although it's not your fault), it could mend things quickly, made up now! Or, take a nap, even if you can't sleep, try to close your eyes and think of other things that's not relevant, cool down and you'll see things differently after that...

DEADLINES STRESS, WORK WORK WORK
It's not possible to always say, "Boss, I need more time" (even if you really need more time). Your KPI is your boss's KPI, you think you need 2 days to complete a report, your boss give you only 5 hours. It's not that your boss is unreasonable, it's just that, he/she is the boss, you've to do it, at your best!

Try:- List down your projects in hand, talk to him/her, make him/her understand. Prioritise together and achieve a goal. If the project is quick intensive, do propose for a better deadline, and work together to get it done. Suggest to get other team-members and delegate can be a good idea :)

RUSH-HOUR STRESS
Working days, getting to the office, is a stress too! Rainy day even stress, sunny day also stress... traffic jam stress, car breakdown stress, everything seem is a stress hahaha

Try:- Get out from the house 15mins earlier that usual, and reach office earlier. You can have your own sweet time flipping through the newspaper or have a cup of coffee with sandwiches. Rainy day? Wear a slipper and change your shoes at work, who cares?

TALK, PRESENTATION, ON-STAGE STRESS
Don't think that everyone is born to go up the stage, not only will forget the notes, he/she might shake too... that's not something funny, but it happens to most of us ;)

Try:- Rehearse your speech, add-on some jokes, so that you feel happy when the audience laugh too. Watch more talk shows to see how people speak, with confidence. No worries, public speaking can be easy at times...

BILLS BILLS BILLS
It's so tempting to get points using credit cards, looking at promotional flyers and it's easy, you can buy things with ZERO % installments, who is not tempting? Monthly utility bills, yearly tax bills... arrrggghhhh who's loving it?

Try:- Your debts must not be 20% or more than your income, else, get ready to be in financial trouble! Use cash when necessary, else apply for a Debit Card :) Want to buy a big item that cost thousands, save in a piggy bank, installments are crazy, unless you really need it!

TYPE TYPE TYPE STRESS
Hey, do you know that typing too much is a stress? As you type, you have to take care of the grammar (thanks to the technology, you've spell check now) hahaha. It can be fun to blog, fun to be expressive as you type, however, remember to break-away from your computer screen.

Try:- Walk to the toilet if you are at work, try talk to someone and laugh. Do this every 30-45 minutes if possible, not only for your eyes, also for your brain to get some new ideas ;)

INTERVIEW STRESS
Going for an interview? New opportunities or feel suck at work and think you need a new environment? Hehehe, it's normal to feel a little pressured as you've to update your CV, you've to make sure that you remember what you did in you previous company and how to 'talk big' about your current job, in order to get a new position elsewhere hahahhaa

Try:- Update your CV every year, go with the added responsibilities that you get every now and then. Review the CV layout and re-arrange your certificates. See in yourself, whether you are capable for the position, or too many areas for improvements? Be confident, when you think you can do it, yes, you are right!

SICK, DOCTOR STRESS
Sometimes we get sick, not because of low immune system, it's all about stress hahahaha, sounds a little weird, but true though. Being sick is already so troublesome, that we sometimes can't get up from bed, and still have to crawl to the clinic to get a MC for the day. Worse is when you had fever at 6am, by the time you go to clinic at 9am, your fever is gone and the doctor did not offer you a day off!!

Try:- Drink more water when you feel heaty, before the sickness strikes! If you are caught with flu, you've to sleep more after your flu medication. Cough? It's not nice to cough like mad cow at work (I always do that), in fact, it make you stress at work, and your colleagues are stress to hear you coughing too...

HOBBIES STRESS
Everyone will have at least 2 hobbies. Reading? Swimming? FB-ing? All these are hobbies of a different categories. Reading is conventional, swimming is a sport and FB-ing is the trend-hobby hahahaha. Whatever it is, it takes time. Some must read everyday - newspapers or horoscope (like me :D). Some must swim everyday... to keep fit. Some must go on FB 5x a day (like nothing better to do hahaha)

Try:- Discover more things to do in life. Instead of reading the newspaper, you can always switch on the TV for latest news and you see visual, it's great too. Sports... too addicted to gym, too many handsome guys out there? Perhaps, have a walk in the park sounds reasonable too. FB? Twitter? It's ok to skip 1 or 2 days FB-ing, your friends won't runaway ;)

NAGGING OLD FOLKS STRESS
Mothers, grand-mothers, aunties - Bad news is that most of the nag.... hahahaa ... the good news is, you dont' see them 24-hour a day. It's torturing to hear people nag especially when you are home and looking forward to a yummy dinner at home.

Try:- As you reach home, say hello to them, and proceed for dinner. Before your mom nags, crack some jokes over dinner and make everyone feel at ease. Some old folks nag because youngster refuse to share stories with them, and they always wonder why we do things differently. Remember one thing, they stay at home most of the time, and they are not as updated as us, so share our stories and keep them on the beat!

20s VS 30s

Wondering what is this page is all about? Read an article about whether we are ready to take the mothering plunge ... hehehe, I was thinking, what is 'plunge' all about?

Hmmm... some got pregnant (accidentally at 17 and got married, they weren't ready... but have to go through it). Some got married for several years and still taking own sweet time, some just think that 'motherhood' comes in a package within a marriage, which is quite true though hahaha

Here are some ADVANTAGES when you become a mother in your 20s (just like me) YEH!
  • Body bounce back to normal (but not me) but this is common among others hahaha
  • Parents and grand-parents still around to assist when it comes to babysitting
  • Plenty of energy to keep up with babies and young children
  • Talking about career, you have the energy to move on, you won't feel so tired multi-tasking (even you have to take care of own babies at night)
  • You can as many babies as you can, but pls look at quality, not quantity... hahaha

Well, the DISADVANTAGES will be:-
  • Lack of freedom to socialise (clubbing, outings, gatherings with buddies) and travelling
  • Could be an interruption of career path during 'peak years' for promotion, or career advancement due to some limitations and 'family thinking'
  • You probably thinking why your other male colleagues are being offered with career opportunities while you are just sitting at the same chairs...
  • Stucked at home if you have a husband who is always not at home to take care of your children
  • Your friends will not call you as usual for party, they will 'assume' that you are babysitting, automatically, even you are not!
  • Some financial setback, when buying new car or new house... one child could take up around RM 1,000 per month, this is no joke ;)

However, when you are in your 20's and you try to conceive, you will get pregnant easily and only 12 percent chance of miscarriage or having complications. Having babies at this age carry lowest risk of complications and abnormalities, which is good for both mother and baby. Getting pregnant is not only about getting a baby, mother needs support emotionally and family needs to be financially strong for an addition in the family.

Ooooo what if you are just ready to be a mother in your 30s, which is common, some of us got married in late 20s and decided to give 2 years for honeymoon, and here will be the ADVANTAGES:-

  • Strong relationship foundation with your husband
  • Definitely more financially stable compared to a 25 year old mom
  • Feel a lot stable and settled down, be selfless
  • Could have fulfilled some life goals, such as a stable career and enough of traveling
  • Feel excited to have a baby in the family

Last but not least, will be some DISADVANTAGES.... (no worries, it's still do-able in your 30s)
  • Energy level might not be as high as in your 20s
  • Having a new bundle of joy needs $$$, and your house loan, car loan needs $$$ too!!
  • Your husband might think of giving you a better life, therefore, he works late with the intention to bring home more $$$ (and you've to struggle yourself with your children most of the time)
  • Stress as you might not have much time to read or ask about parenting
  • Your parents might get slightly older and you have to find alternative for babysitting

Getting pregnant in your 30s, do it early 30s. As we grow older as a woman, babies are more at risk to have defects, or pregnancy complications that might harm your life. Not much of worries ... we have greater technology in medical to help, just don't delay ooh lala...

BE A HAPPY MOM, 20 years later, when you see your children graduating at the University, it's worth it... cheers!
